[opencms-dev] prev | next page navigation?

Hi!

I'm using OpenCMS 11 with the mercury template for a website I maintain.

I now have the requirement to provide a "previous | next" page navigation
for a certain set of pages within the site.

The pages live in their own folder each and the whole set of pages has
a well defined order (defined in the sitemap). All the folders of these
pages have the same root folder.

On top of each page I want to provide two links "previous | next"
so the user can click through the set of pages in both directions
page by page.

Currently I solve this by placing a new "link sequence" element on top
of each page and by manually setting the correct links to the previous
and next page.

This of course is quite cumbersome and error-prone.

As a software developer I think there should be a way to solve this
programmatically somehow, but I have no idea how to do it with the
tools OpenCMS provides.

Any hint how I could solve this?

Thanks!

- andreas
