JDK 1.2.2 works fine.

Although the multiple -cp options did not work for me. If you are using
Linux try something like (all in one line of course):

java -cp
.:opencms.jar:./ExternalComponents/xerces.jar:./ExternalComponents/mysql_uncomp.jar
com.opencms.setup.CmsShell com.opencms.file.CmsInitMySql
org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver
jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/opencms?user=root;password=

You might have to use different relative paths though ;)
