[opencms-dev] Can I use PHP ?

Folks --

I am using the latest version of opencms on Linux. Is it possible for me to
use a PHP script within my web tree ? Also, when I try to create a new file
and then select "other" and then "script", does anybody have an idea as to
what this option allows me to do and how the opencms system interprets a
"script" file ?

if we cannot integrate a php file, then how would it be possible to make a
simple "contact us" form work ?

any help would be appreciated.
