Betreff: [opencms-dev] installation...

Hi,

I'm new to OpenCMS so I'll ask the usual stupid questions about
installation...

For evaluation purpose I'm trying to setup the beast (version 4.1.57) on
a Win2K box with apache 1.3.17, Servlet dev kit 2.0, JServ 1.1.2, MySQL
3.23.33, Java 1.3, Xerces-J-bin.1.3.0, mm.mysql-2.0.4-bin.jar

I went through the process to step 7, restarted apache and tried to log
in...
The error message looks like this: http://tibi.free.fr/opencms.gif (in
German, may be due to my locale settings).

Here are the logs that I found:

in opencms.log:

[20.02.2001 15:19:49] <opencms_info> [CmsResponseHttpServlet] JSDK 1
detected.
[20.02.2001 15:19:51] <opencms_critical> [CmsXmlWpTemplateFile]
Requested datablock "details" not found!

--------

I found only 200 codes in access.log

--------

$ grep -v uccess error.log
Version 4.1.57 Arakis

Then I clicked on OK on the error page, entered Admin admin several
times in the login boxes
and after 5 or 6 times I received a blank page (contains only some
erroneous javascript), my browser is Internet Explorer 5.0

Then I go again on
http://localhost/servlets/opencms/system/workplace/action/login.html and
I receive this page:

Service Temporarily Unavailable
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to
maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

Apache/1.3.17 Server at mypc.synlogic.ch Port 80

Then I found the following errors in the logs:

--------

in mod_jserv.log:

[20/02/2001 14:31:12:976] (ERROR) ajp12: Servlet Error: [CmsException]:

If the problem looks familiar to you, please point my nose to what I
missed :-)
I see different places that could be wrong:
o the config files (BTW, when should I use / and when \ in the paths
inside the jserv and opencms confnig files)
o the versions of the various software components (xerces in
particular)
o I did not understand what I was supposed to do by "On a win32 System
with jdk1.3 you have to unzipp the .jar and .zip files containing the
classes." so I did nothing.

Thank you for reading so far!
