Frustration...
Come on guys...where is the support from the OpenCms development team? This
list is little more than a OpenCms setup assistance list.
I have noticed all too often that any questions that get close to the
"internals" of OpenCms receive no answers. Someone has to help lead us into
this system and I believe that one or more of the OpenCms developers should
play a part in this. Look at lists like Apache's Cocoon. At least two
developers are extremely active and have helped accelerate acceptance of the
product as well as receiving lots of feedback, ideas and contributions. It
also makes the entire process a hell of a lot more interesting and
rewarding.
How about getting one of the developers to help bring some "from the source"
know-how by participating in the list a little more. I still have plenty of
questions, but if the simples ones won't get answered then why bother with
the others.
But not to appear only negative, I must say I have been impressed by the
latest release and the progress OpenCms is making. Even good documentation!
Great! Just gave a demo to a private Swiss Bank to day and they are
impressed too.
