Hi Sacha,

insert the following line at the beginning of your STARTUP.BAT:

SET CATALINA_OPTS=-Dfile.encoding=ISO8859_1

You can do it in your Environment as well.

Where does install.html talk about the wrapper file?

Michael

Betreff: [opencms-dev] Tomcat parameter

Hi,

the OpenCms install docs says:
To make sure Tomcat works with the correct charset to read and write files
you should add the
following parameter to the commandline that is used to start Tomcat:
-Dfile.encoding=ISO8859_1

I`m using Tomcat under Windoze. Where exactly should I add this line? To
start Tomcat I use
TOMCAT_HOME\BIN\STARTUP.BAT

install.html also says:
Add that parameter at the end of the file
TOMCAT_HOME/conf/jk/wrapper.properties

I don`t have a /jk subdirectory in my TOMCAT_HOME/conf/ dir. I`m using
Tomcat 4.0.1.
Where should I add it?

Thank you,

Sacha
