Hello,

I'm sorry about the confusion. It's just the wrong copyright message checked
in. I will change it to LGPL as all other parts of OpenCms.

Regards,

Andreas

Betreff: [opencms-dev] Copyrighted modules?!?

I noticed with much surprise that the MasterContentDefinition module,
included into the new OpenCMS 4.5, contain the following sentence:

THIS SOFTWARE IS NEITHER FREEWARE NOR PUBLIC DOMAIN!

To use this software you must purchase a licence from Framfab.
In order to use this source code, you need written permission from Framfab.
Redistribution of this source code, in modified or unmodified form,
is not allowed.

This means that deploying the whole "opencms.jar" could result in a
violation of the license agreement.
I tried to remove the module by dropping every table which name begins with
CMS_MODULE and removing the "com.opencms.defaults.master" package and
subpackages.
What else should be deleted to remain into the Open Source domain?
Please keep us informed about any license modification. This change wasn't
pleasant at all, was unexpected and was going to represent an hidden
obstacle in our development. Luckily I didn't start developing anything
based on the new MCD - I'll use the old fashioned method.
