hi uli,
thats a tomcat problem. theres a tomcat manager webapp which you can
activate. that lets you kickstart seperate web-apps. you wont get aroung
that kickstart though. look at

Betreff: [opencms-dev] changes on java code without restarting tomcat
When I change the java code of a class belonging to an element template
and recompile the java class, it takes no effect inside the OpenCms
workplace until I restart the tomcat. How can I develop on the java code
and get the results on the fly? I am running OpenCms 4.6.1 on Win2k with
Tomcat 4.0.
