Try to set CATALINA_OPTS="-Dfile.encoding=ISO-8859-1". It should run on
your platform, the errors you describe have not been encountered so far
and can not be reproduced here. Please try to verify the error on a
different machine so that we can reproduce it, we can certainly fix it
then.
