The JEdit based editor, I have taken the Original source code and modified
it to work as applet. It warks great, With the new editor I have user
friendly Editor compared to ActiveX editor.
I have also taken another Open Source project and modified it to Create a
Applet WYSIWYG editor.
You can download the editor souce code and documents from

http://www.aditisoft.com/opencms/export/download/

We have tested and integrated these editor with OpenCMS. The document
explains all that. If you need help write back to me
Regards
