[opencms-dev] How to translate OpenCMS interface to another language (french) ?

Hi,

We want to translate the entire OpenCMS interface to french. And it's
possible that we'll put this into OpenCMS's web site when it's done. (I'v
tried to find if it's already available, but I'v found nothing).

OpenCMS supports already german, english en italian, I'v seen that there is
a directory with different language files.

But what's exactly the translation process ?
I think that I can take the english file, translate it, then integrate the
translated file back into OpenCMS.
But can someone tell me the exact steps ?
