Hi Michael,
the sim. "users" mentioned in the hardware requirements are the OpenCms
users (normally editors) who work constantly on the OpenCms workplace at the
same time. It´s only a fuzzy recommendation, depends on how much performance
you prefer. In my eyes it´s very seldom, to have a system where more than 10
simultaneous users work constantly at the same time, this must be a huge
site.
There is nothing mentioned in the hardware requirements about simultaneous
number of visitors (="guests"), which would be an irrelevant factor by the
way, or http requests/min.
Best regards
Daniel

I have a question about the OpenCMS hardware requirements. You are
talking about "sim. users". What is your definition? To need a more only
10 simultaneous visitors seems to be unbelievable for me.
Our main server (Double PIII, 1 GB RAM, SCSI) we has about 600 HTTP
requests per minute, about 50% served by CGI or mod_php. I don't know how
many sim. users this would equivalent to, but I guess more likely 60 than
just 10. Up to how many can sim. users could such a Double PIII with 4 GB
of RAM serve, you specify only ">10"?
Thanks!
Michael
