[opencms-dev] Open cms questions

Hi all, I'm kind of new to this cms thing(and in particular opencms) so 
please bear with me.

 The open cms site lists three databases as being supported by opencms. 
I'd like to know if this could be extended to
some other rdbms like SAP DB (http:://www.sapdb.org) . If so what kind 
of work would be involved in getting opencms
to work with databases other than the one listed on the site ?
