I encounter the same situation. To workaround it I fix the file 
webapps\opencms\WEB-INF\jsp\offline\system\modules\org.opencms.templates\jsptemplates\template-nav-top.jsp.jsp 
and modify line 27 with "if (nav != null && nav.isFolderLink())" and line 86 
with "if (foldernav != null && foldernav.isFolderLink())". I haven't checked 
the rest of the template so similar bugs could show up.
