[opencms-dev] hierarchy news channels and channels with group permission?

I want to add hierarchy channels to the news module and assign a group to
each channel to limit the news publication of a channel only to users of its
group.
I think that I could use the opencms channles for this, but I don´t know the
use of opencms channels.
Any idea?
