[opencms-dev] Unable To Edit WebPages

I've had a troublesome installation of OpenCMS5.0.0. It definitely
doesn't install on Sun JDK1.3.1_07. After using JDK1.4.1_05, I found
that OpenCMS definitely doesn't install on BEA WebLogic7.0. I also had
miscellaneous problems with database drivers and popup window
blocking. All of this has been resolved.

Now I have a fresh install of OpenCMS5.0.0 running on TomCat4.0.3, Sun
JDK1.4.1_05, and Oracle9.0.2. The database is fresh and there were no
errors during installation.

Unfortunately, I cannot edit any content. I can publish empty
webpages. Expected URLs produce blank output and the HTML source is a
minimal template. Non-existent URLs create errors, as expected.

I have used MicroSoft InterNetExplorer6.0.2800.1106. After allowing
popups, I am using Mozilla1.4 (build 20030624). For both browsers, I
am not given option to edit webpages. Options are present and
consistent in both browsers. No editing options can be selected.

I have searched for similar instances of this problem, but it appears
that other people have Java exceptions or non-existent URLs which
prevent then editing content. I have not seen my problem documented or
reported.
