I marked both cells and the left border. That's why it didn't work.

You need to mark both cells ... easiest way is to put some text in each cell, then mark both text items. Should work then.

How can I merge cells of a table in the Wysiwyg-Editor? When I do a Right-click on a table cell this menu option is grayed out. What is wrong?
