1. First of all the new look & feel of the workplace is cool. I like
that i can use the right mousebutton and that i don't have to unlock a
file first to edit it. A drawback ist that you can't use an editor with
the right mouse button and open in a new window. If this is still
changeable...
By the way i my resolution ist 1280x... And i can see the exit or
abmelden button in english and german.
2. all my old templates don't work anymore. It seems that the old class
is substituted by com.opencms.template.CmsXmlTemplate? Concerning
downwards compatibility the old class should still work?
3. Some of the often used community modules like the news module 2.1
doesn't work anymore. I didn't try everything possible but it seems to
be complicated to import an existing module running on 5.0.1. into
5.3.1.
4. i love the direct edit functionality an in my oppinion it ist an
improvement this way. We only did first test but it is great yet.
5. it is great that you can use directly the jsp template without the
strange xml master template we have to use before
I would love to use the new version with my existing projects to test it
out even more, but because of the non existing (or not understood)
compatibility to version 5.0.1. it is too much pain. Perhaps that should
be the most important part in the development now, not to add any new
features to this great release but to provide downwards compatibility
for the old modules a lot of people use. If we can help, give me
feedback.
All in all good work, respect.
