I just got it working, and though this approach is similar to the 
"official" documentation available as a module download from 
www.opencms.org, mine requires fewer drastic changes to Tomcat's 
server.xml and webapps directories, and the example is simpler than is 
available elsewhere.

Bookmark <http://gagne.homedns.org/~tgagne/articles/ProxyOpenCMS/> and 
visit it in a day or so.  I should have it up by Saturday.
