I just prefer to not have an anchor around the text ... ie. I don't want
underlined etc... and switching it off with css is not always ideal as
it is still a link.

Doesn’t really matter though ... I would just not leave it blank.

Oh right! Is there any reason not to just put the anchor around the text
itself - does that cause more problems?
