All of these editors just use the designMode feature of Explorer and
Mozilla >= 1.3, and they are implemented in HTML+JS, so it doesn't
really matter what the underlying technology is.
Also fckeditor doesn't work with Mozilla, so it's out of the question.
Actually Midas (the internal Mozilla HTML editor) is implemented in a
similar way to "designMode", so it should be fairly simple to get
opencms' editor ported.
As an aside: Internet Explorer is mostly abandoned software now...
