Hi Geoff,

it´s not a bug it´s a feature ;-)

Look at /system/workplace/templates/js/opencms_edithtml.js

There´s a "function deleteEmptyATags". Deleting this function should solve
your problems.

No: it is erroneous behaviour. The WYSIWYG process isn't simply ignoring
the anchor, it is _removing_ it from the file.

I only commented on the w3c's page to show that empty anchors are valid
HTML (and therefore should not be removed)
