Hello ,
We are currently evaluating OpenCMS, and have some questions we have to answer about its functionality.
We do appreciate any help you can give us with that. A list of the open questions follows below.
P_lease help us answer these questions.
1. E-mail notification of updates . The system must be able to send e-mail notifications of content
updates on a user specified schedule e.g. immediately, once a day or once a week.
The e-mail must contain a direct link to the new content object. . Is this possible maybe via a new module?
2. Full-text search of Microsoft documents and PDF files . The search results page should contain
links to all Microsoft Office and PDF documents where the search keywords had appeared.
Would Lucene be capable of this?
3. All documents must have an URL that can be easily referred to
in internal e-mails etc. The system must provide an URL
thatÂ’s easy for end users to locate when they want to forward
a link to a document via e-mail. Is this possible maybe via a new module?
4. It should be possible to narrow down the search to selected
folders. User must be able to go to a folder or subfolder and limit
the search to that folder only. It would be nice if users could
select multiple independent folders for the search operation.
Is this possible maybe via a new module?
5. The system must utilize single sign-on to all relevant
applications. These applications include Microsoft Share Point, Project Web,
Find Future World, SalesWise and MarketingWise. Is this possible maybe via a new module?
6. The system shall be able to import or integrate with Microsoft Share Point Portal.
The system must be able to import or display folder structures and documents from
Microsoft Share Point Document Library. Is this possible maybe via a new module?
7. The system must be able to integrate with FIND Future World content.
FIND Future World is an intranet site hosted in Australia and contains product
information and discussion forums for salesforce. Specifically, we want to
everage content in Interstage Community which is part of the FIND Future World intranet.
Is this possible maybe via a new module?
8. The system should support Instant Messaging. The system should support secure
instant messaging across multiple locations. The instant messaging module should
show the status of each user (available / busy). It should be possible to save
timestamped instant messaging session logs to the system. Is this possible?
9. It should be possible to easily save/download multiple documents from the system
for offline use. Users often need a set of documents to be available to them while
they travel and may not have a fast network connection available.
Users should be able to download individual files or folder contents to their laptops.
Is this possible.
10. Document archive. It should be possible to archive documents
that are no longer needed, is this possible?
11. Document usefulness rating. Users should be able to rate documents in terms of
usefulness to their work. The ratings should be automatically be e-mailed to
the author of the document or to the owner of the folder Is this possible?
12. The system must provide team calendars that integrate with Microsoft Outlook.
It should be possible to synchronize the team calendars with Microsoft Outlook Calendar.
Is this possible?
13. It should be possible to output content updates to SMS enabled cell phones.
The user profile should provide an option for sending content updates to SMS enabled cell phones.
Is this possible?
14. The system should enable users to specify document validity periods. The user should
be able to specify a publish date and expiry date for each document. Is this possible.
Any help with these questions and their answer would be greatly
appreciated.
