[opencms-dev] MySQL 4.1 or Multi-byte character support?

Greetings all,

I dug through the archives and couldn't find any mention of MySQL 5.X 
use with MySQL 4.1.  Has anyone tried working with that combination?

Alternately, has anyone used OpenCMS 5.X with languages that require 
multi-byte character support?  Based on the search engine, it sadly 
appears no, but I want to throw it out there in case I missed something.
