Hi,

Did you read the mailing list concerning replacing Xerces ?

Maybe the error 500 is caused by that (especially when its a fresh
install).

Kind regards,

Cederic

Subject: [opencms-dev] Evaluating OpenCMS and bugs..

Hi there,
I have just installed OpenCMS and am evaluating it for our content
management purposes. I have a couple of queries.

1) When I try to edit documents I always seem to get 500 errors with a
load of java error gunk. I have tried installing the activeX component.
I am using most recent tomcat standalone on redhat 9 and have tried on
fedora fc2 with same results.

2) Is it possible to edit documents using external desktop editors? I
would like a way to click edit on a file, have it open in a local editor
and then upload the file afterwards. Is this possible?

Thanks, Tom
