I deinstalled Tomcat 4.1 and reinstalled it again and the problem disappeared. Maybe it had to do with the encoding. I changed it now to ISO-8859-1 with regedit in the registry (add key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Apache Tomcat 4.1\Parameters\JVM Option Number 4, Value = -Dfile.encoding=ISO-8859-1and update JVM Option Count to 5)

I'm having the same problem when using Java ONE Web Server as servlet container installed on Windows XP. Haven't found a solution. It's running just fine on the Solaris machine, using the same project and configuration.

Cookies are enables, I'm using IE. Which parameters should I check within my Tomcat installation?

Do you have cookies enabled? Do you use Internet Explorer? Sounds to me
there is an issue with session management, caused by either your browser
or your Tomcat installation.
