[opencms-dev] OpenCms 6.0 alpha 1 released

Hi all,

OpenCms 6.0 alpha 1 (aka 5.5.1) has been released and is available for
download from the http://www.opencms.org website. 

OpenCms 6.0 has been under development for about 18 months now. This release
is the first version that has a public binary download. This marks the final
phase in 6.0 development that should lead to the OpenCms 6.0 "stable"
release, hopefully until end of this year. 

For a full list of features and open issue in this release, please check out
the release notes that come with the download, or have a look at the OpenCms
homepage at http://www.opencms.org. 

Please note that documentation for the new features is still incomplete. See
the release notes for more details.

Any help in developing the OpenCms 6.0 "final" version is greatly
appreciated. The more help we get the sooner we can expect a stable release.


Contributions to the following areas would be most needed:

* Feedback about how OpenCms 6.0 installes in various environments 
* Help in developing the JSP version of the "Administration" and "Workflow"
views
* Help in documenting the new features
