you can make a batch file to start tomcat with specified encoding format.

C:\j2sdk1.4.2_05\bin\java.exe -jar -Dfile.encoding=ISO-8859-1 -Duser.dir="C:\Tomcat_5.0" "C:\Tomcat_5.0\bin\bootstrap.jar" start

above is a batch file on my system. you can change it for your system.

hope helps you.
hitesh.

  Hello,

I want to cange my Java VM file encoding from Cp1252 to ISO-8859-1 but I don´t know where.
In Catalina .bat it has no effect and in opencms.properties i can edit only the OpenCms encoding.

So for the first impressions of opencms I switched OpenCms encoding to Cp1252 and it works but I read that it´s not recomended for good reasons I think. ( for example I can´t create a page file).

Im working With Win2000 opencms 5.0 and Java 4.2_02
I know its simle but can anyone help me?

  thanks
  klaus
