Thanks for answers to my questions ... Seems that most things now work. I must read the manual of developing more templates and pages more to find out if I got my setup right at last and if I dnot get any more errors, exceptions, rights issues, etc.
Thanks again.
Sincerely,
Shamick P. Gaworski

Hi
I tried to exclude some resources but can't find the syntax for opencms-search.xml. In CmsSearchConfiguration.java I don't see
something like exclude...
Is this uberhaupt ;-) possible?
regards,
Hans

This may be a dumb question, but the templateone module installs to the root
dir ("/"). Published sites are only visible from /sites/default - is there a
way to publish the templateone files without moving them all into the
/sites/default directory (i.e. publish the content as installed from the
module administrator without any extra or with minimal extra work)?
thx

Is the source code for templateone available somewhere?
It is not checked out from CVS:opencms nor does it appear to be included
with the alpha2 binary download.
thx

Hello all,
I'm trying to build my html gallery in v6 alpha 2. When I make a gallery
and open it up to make a new gallery item I can not. I can only make a new
gallery, which ends up being a sibling to the gallery I just made.
Is anyone else having this problem?
Marc

Dear Dariush,
First of all, sorry comming back to you too late.
Now I should tell you that Before I wanted to use DataSource, I tested ConnPool but I had faced with the same problems which persists after using DataSource.So it seems these behaviors are not just related to DataSource or Connpool.
Can you help me, which factors can cause these problems?
Kind Regards,
Farnaz.
Dariush <dariush at eximia.it> wrote:
Hi Farnaz,
first of all you should investigate to understand if the access denied error
occurs only using DataSources (but I don't think so) or also using default
connPool.
If problem persists also using connPool, try to restart from a plain installation.
Consider that from an access privilege point of view to opencms resources,
datasources and connpool are the same thing.
Let me know if the problem occurs only with DataSources.
Best regards, Dariush.

Is the source code for templateone available somewhere?
It is not checked out from CVS:opencms nor does it appear to be included
with the alpha2 binary download.

You can exclude certain resource types, but not folders or resources based
on their name.
However, you could provide multiple start paths for an index like this:
<indexsource>
<name>source1</name>
<indexer
class="org.opencms.search.CmsVfsIndexer" />
<resources>
<resource>/sites/default/folder1/</resource>
<resource>/sites/default/folder2/</resource>
</resources>
<documenttypes-indexed>
<name>xmlpage</name>
<name>page</name>
<name>text</name>
<name>pdf</name>
<name>msword</name>
<name>msexcel</name>
<name>image</name>
<name>generic</name>
</documenttypes-indexed>
</indexsource>

System info:
OpenCMS 6.0-a2
Java 1.4.2 (perhaps 1.4.1 - I will check it again this night)
Tomcat 4.1.29
OpenCMS 6.0a1 is running well on the same system

Following your statement above, the minimum tomcat - version is 5.0.28
(or some of the previous versions) since tomcat 4.1.x comes with an
older xerces, as far as I know.
I'll try to install it again with the new config this weekend ans post
the results.

Hi Farnaz,
if I were you, I would restart from a plain installation, just to find out if the problem is connected with your current network /application server/db environment or (hope it) with your current opencms installation.
To do that, you should create a new db and opencms instance and investigate on this plain inst.
Let me know,
Dariush.

Hi Indy,
We are using the current released version of OpenCMS and import and export work fine.
regards
Martin

Subject: RE: [opencms-dev] OpenCms 5 on WebLogic 8.1 and Oracle 9i
Thanks for the help, Martin. I ended up coming back
to this work after not having success a few months ago
when I posed the question.
Most recently, I was able to get OpenCms 5.01 working
with WLS 8.1 SP3 (I'm sure the patch you mention below
works too).
Now, I have a different problem - and I'm not sure if
it existed before or not. Here is what happens:
When I use MySQL as the database, all is well, but if
I used Oracle 9i, most OpenCms admin UI functionality
seems to work (the admin functionality, explorer view,
etc.), but if I attempt to import a module I had
exported from the MySQL database into the new Oracle
9i database, it imports, but I cannot
open/preview/render pages.
I noticed that someone mentioned an Oracle build
script problem
(http://mail.opencms.org/pipermail/opencms-dev/2004q3/012210.html)
with OpenCms 5.3, but I wondered if there were similar
problems with the Oracle scripts with OpenCms 5.01.
Did you have to modify the Oracle scripts at all? If
it's working for you on Oracle and WLS, which version
of OpenCms are you using?
Thanks in advance!
Indy
P.S. I was able to get OpenCms (with MySQL) working
with a node-managed WLS cluster as well, but when I
tested things out, it didn't work as desired. For
instance, if I logged into multiple browsers and to
the different managed WLS instances, and then locked
and edited an item, in the other browsers/instances,
even after a browser refresh, the locked and edited
state was not reflected. So, I've abandoned using a
WLS cluster with OpenCms for now.

It seems logical that in the begining there is no /system/workplace/views,
but later the folders seem to be imported.
Should the log look like this ?
