Got it working in XP:

JRE 1.5.0_02/Tomcat5.5.7/mysql4.1.10

tomcat5.5 do not require a JDK to run anymore. Comes with it's own 
compiler.

I am new to OpenCMS, can anyone tell me the recommended installation is
for OpenCMS 6.0 on Windows XP, as far as db, application server
versions, etc. 

For example: Java version 1.5 / Apache Tomcat 4.1.30 / MySql 4.0.22.
