I had the same problem. Try 
http://localhost:8080/opencms/opencms/alkacon-documentation/index.html 
for a global view of online docs. Especially the Template Howto 
http://localhost:8080/opencms/opencms/alkacon-documentation/howto_template/ 
shows you a quickstart on how to use the Tags in exsisting html code.
