Hi, Installing OpenCms as ROOT or using mod_rewrite is to get rid of the /webapp/servlet or opencms/opencms prefix. If you only want to forward your requests from apache to tomcat you should use mod_jk (or mod_proxy). Installing as ROOT is not required for port forwarding. HTH Sebastian
