It required new tricks, but I have it running on postgres 7.4. I had to make sure that I let the system create the user and database ( and they could not previously exist ). I also had to make sure that I created the "postgres" database because it connects to the users database when starting up. Other than that, the install ran. I still get an occasional error "index out of parameter range", but i havent seen anything that works differenly than it does on my test mysql db.

Subject: [opencms-dev] RC1 does not install on postgres?
Hello,
I think there's a bug in RC1 related to installing on a postgres
database. I tried many times to do the installation, but after the
installation I was always left with a blank page and no error message
in the logs.
Beta3 installation works all right on the same machine with the same
database and application server. I suspect the problem is in the
workplace import, but I have no time to debug now.
Was anybody able to install RC1 on postgres?
As for myself, I'm switching back to beta3 for now.
regards,
Alessandro Magnolo
