[opencms-dev] To use templateone or not

Hi,
    I have a quite complex question (at least for me).

    I'm experienced in java (working with J2EE from its beginning)

    QUESTION:
       - when to bild your own template and when to use "template one".

    How can "template one" be extended ? Is there a document explaining 
that ?
