[opencms-dev] File encoding issue with 5.0, Tomcat 5.5 on Windows 2003

I am running into the same problem with the exact same environment as Jason.

My reason for selecting OpenCms 5.0 at the beginning of a new project is
because much more documentation is available compared to 6.0. I have not come
across any getting started guides for 6.0 otherwise I would pursue that
version further.

Ron

See this re -Dfile.encoding:

Have you tried JDK1.5.0?

Also remember that OpenCms 6 has just been released and there are
substantial changes. So if you are starting a project I would suggest
you start with OpenCms 6 unless you have a good reason to choose
version 5.

Joe.
