Sorry I have to correct myself:

weekness and as they are closed source you have any > chance to extend
them yourself.

as they are closed source you """don't""" have any chance to extend them
yourself.

Hi Alex,

:-)

For open source CMS Systems, I can say OpenCms is by the far the best
one, Magnolia, InfoGlue, Lenya and others are god too, if e.g, you
require that your CMS must be JSR 170 conform for instance Magnolia will
be the right solution for now, and if you would like to have a JSR 168
portlet sipport you can get InfoGlue, all of them have their weekness an
strength, but as I was involved in large CMS evaluation projects for
ECMS systems like:

Day - Day Communiqué
Ektron, Inc. - Ektron CMS400.NET
EMC Corporation - EMC Documentum
FatWire Software - FatWire Content Server
GlobalSCAPE Texas LP - GlobalSCAPE PublishXML
International Business Machines - IBM Workplace Web Content Management
Open Text Livelink WCM Server PaperThin, Inc. - CommonSpot™
Content Server Percussion Software - Percussion Rhythmyx WCM
RedDot Solutions - RedDot CMS with LiveServer
Roxen CMS Serena Software - Serena Collage Sitecore -
Sitecore .NET CMS Stellent, Inc.- Stellent Web Content Management 7.5
Vignette - Vignette V7 Vignette Content Management

.....

It was clear that also these closed expensive systems have also their
weekness and as they are closed source you have any chance to extend
them yourself.

So to put it together, I will recommend to stick with OpenSource and
particularly with OpenCms, OpenCms will become in the next generation
JSR 170 and 168 compliant, what else do you wish to have?

The lack in OpenCms is that the documentation is not very good, but you
can buy excellent documenation (over 1000 pages) and training (3-5
days)for it and I think that would be a very intelligent investment
which reduces cost in the futute!

Best Regards,
Arash

This is a very good list of questions and I have to confess that it is
longer than mine. Now considering you should adopt on of the existing
solutions (and maybe plug more functionality by
your own) you can imagine how hard an evaluation is done without the
tutorial we were talking about ;-).
