[opencms-dev] How to set user permissions to access files other than in sites/default ?

Hy all,

How do we get to set the user permissions so that a user can access a
folder which is not in sites/default/  ?

Meaning, I want a user to be able to edit files and publish files
online and static export files that are stored in a folder in the root
and not in the default area.

I can't go back to the root when Im a user, is there a way to set this up ?
