I'm not sure if this helps in your quest, but check out FCKEditor at http://www.fckeditor.net/ That is designed for easy integration with applications. There is also an FCKEditor OpenCms module which replaces the HTMLArea editor, and I believe the next major release of OpenCms is likely to use this editor. Joe.
