[opencms-dev] VFS corrupt?

Hello all,
I've been using OpenCms for some time now, but today I ran into a problem
that has me completely stumped.
I was importing roughly 1800 files via HTTP upload, and all the files showed
up as "new" in the system. As soon as I tried to publish them, however, I
ran into a OpenCmsVfsFileNotFound exception about halfway through, and the
folder in question reverted to its previous contents.
Since that error, I have run into numerous problems that crop up randomly
and can not be reproduced in a consistent way, including:
* publishing one imported folder deletes files from a different new folder,
reverting it to pre-import stage;
* trying to delete a newly imported folder causes an OpenCmsVfsFileNotFound
exception;
* publishing a folder works fine, but the contents revert anyway after the
following publish.
Does anyone have any hints for me as to how to fix this problem?
Thanks very much,
-- Gunther
