OpenCms 6.0.2 is running with

| SuSE 9.1
| mysql  Ver 12.22 Distrib 4.0.18, for suse-linux (i686)
| Tomcat/5.0.19

and default SuSE configuration.

Maybe it's a problem with MySQL 4.1?
