Sorry typo.... :-)

classes12.zip <== I think the Oracle drivers you are using are old and
may not be compatible.. try using the ojdbc14.jar file instead

RAJ,

I was able to get OpenCms installed with Tomcat and Oracle 9i, as well
as a few others were. To answer your questions:

1) Tomcat 5.5.12, running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 3
(Taroon Update 4), Kernel 2.4.21-27.ELsmp on an i686

2) Oracle 9.2.0.1.0

3) Oracle classes12.zip - note I had to add this to the
WEB-INF/lib directory and change the name to classes12.jar for tomcat to
recognize it

4) OpenCms version 6.0.2

When I was first installing opencms, I was doing the install through
Firefox and was experiencing similar issues. As a last resort, I tried
the install using IE and then everything went fine. However, it seems
like I was the only person experiencing that issue.

Hope that helps,

Joel

Oracle8/9i/XE

Hi,

We have been trying to install OpenCms.
We successfully installed and ran OpenCms with Apache/Tomcat and MySQL.

But our target database platform is Oracle and not MySQL.
All the effrots to install OpenCms to run on Oracle has been
unsuccessful. :(
OpenCms Installer is able to create tables in database (that means
connection is successful) but it always fails at installing module.
It gives either of the following two errors.
1. Critical error while loading driver manager
2. Critical error while initializing driver
"org.OpenCms.db.oracle.CmsUserDriver".

Searching on the forums found that there are other users who have
experienced similar problems but following those threads didn't lead to
any satisfactory answer.
Alex mentioned that OpenCms has been tested with JDBC drivers supplied
with Oracle 9i.

So what am I asking for:
1. Version of Apache/Tomcat, developers of OpenCms are using to test
OpenCms with Oracle.
2. Version of Oracle
3. Version of JDBC drivers and if I need any special JAR files supplied
by you.
4. Version of OpenCms itself. (Specifically if beta release of OpenCms
was used.)

If someone who has actually got OpenCms running on Oracle would share
the version details, it will be great.

Thanks for your time,
