[opencms-dev] Is there a bug with 'Shared Properties' dialog?

Hi Shishank,

I get the same behavior (using WebLogic 8.1 SP4 / OpenCms 6.0.2 /
Oracle). I assume it is a WL compatibility issue, since other people on
the list haven't reported it - I hope you'll report back to the list if
you figure it out! The following rather unpleasant workaround has
allowed me to edit properties:

1.	After clicking the 'Advanced' button, instead of clicking the
'Shared Properties' tab, scroll down to the very bottom of the
properties page.
2.	You'll see a second dialog, that is the basic properties dialog.
Click the 'Advanced' button again.
3.	You'll be taken to the Advanced Properties dialog again, but
this time there is no second dialog at the bottom of the page. Now you
should be able to click on 'shared properties' and change the values
there without a problem.

Thanks

jt

Subject: [opencms-dev] Is there a bug with 'Shared Properties' dialog?

Hi,

We are facing the problem while clicking on "Shared Properties" in the
properties dialog. On clicking the "shared properties" tab we get the
following error:

java.lang.NullPointerException
 at
org.opencms.workplace.commons.CmsPropertyAdvanced.getPropertyValues(CmsP
ropertyAdvanced.java:1088)
 at
org.opencms.workplace.commons.CmsPropertyAdvanced.buildSetFormValues(Cms
PropertyAdvanced.java:476)
 at
jsp_servlet._web_45_inf._jsp._offline._system._workplace._commons.__prop
erty_advanced._jspService(__property_advanced.java:393)

........................................................................
....

........................................................................
....

After analysing we found out that if we do not set the "Navigation Text"
value say for a page (or any content type), it throws null pointer in
the "CmsPropertyAdvanced" class in org.opencms.workplace.commons
package. It the value is set, it works perfectly.

Is it a bug in OpenCms? Our environment is

Weblogic 8.1 SP5

OpenCms 6.0.2

Sql Server

Awaiting a quick response.

Best Regards,

Shishank
