[opencms-dev] extending templateone

Hi,

We need to make the standard OpenCms Templateone even more
customizable, i.e. add more features to it.  I presume that
modifying the template directly is not the best approach since
it is a standard module.

How would you recommend to do this?  Create a separate package
and copy everything (under GPL conditions) and then modify the
necessary parts?  Or maybe even extends some Templateone
classes in a separate package and override only some functions?

Any suggestions are welcome.
