[opencms-dev] Adding/deleting data in database

Hi,
i am stuck in aproblem:(
What are the steps i should take to save data from a form? Can i create
custom tables and what are the steps(API's) for storing the data in
database?
Can i store all news and the articles in custom tables intead of xml files?
Please help me out...
