If you installed the documentation modules when you installed OpenCms, 
you'll find a "Template Howto" that covers the basics. More information 
on the OpenCms JSP taglib can also be found in the documentation tree.

If by "templating" you mean using XML to structure content, then the 
basics can be found in the "OpenCms XML content documentation", and 
again the taglib documentation. The examples under 
/sites/default/xmlcontentdemo are also helpful, but I've found that 
there is are a number of details that I just had to learn by trial and 
error.

Sometimes searching the mailling list archives at opencms.org is helpful.

If there is another, more complete source of documentation for 6.x I'd 
love to know too!
