[opencms-dev] How does search module work?

Hi,

I don't understand how opencms search inside the site.
I have a site and I've created an Index source and it works.
For example if I try to do a search inside the administration workplace 
I got 26 pages.
If I try to do the same search on the page using the standard search box 
in the templateone I got just one page.
Why?
