[opencms-dev] user login - example code

Anyone having some pieces of code to accomplish a user login for a Website?
How are users handled anyway in such an environment? Would one
credate users in the OpenCms database? Are there special Webusers
for this purpose. Can this be merged with the Apache authorization model
(.htaccess, htpasswd) ?

I want to create a login area where the specific user has his own 
kind of file explorer view of his download/file area.
