[opencms-dev] How do you remove defined properties?

There's a nifty admin feature to do this, under
Workplace/Administration/Content tools/Property tools.

I've defined a bunch of properties that I'm no longer using.

How do you go about:

a) Removing them from the list of properties.
b) Ensuring that this doesn't cause any inconsistency problems in the
database.
