It controls the static export behavior for a resource (and if it is a 
folder, for all resources below that have no own "export" setting)

Static export means that pages are written out into the file system and 
can then be served in a static way.

the "export" property allows to override the default export behavior: If 
the default export setting is "true" (That means: resources should be 
exported by default) then you can still set the "export" property for 
some resources to "false" and thereby prevent its export

On the other hand you can set the default setting to false and some 
resources to export=true (at least if static export is generally 
configured and active) and then only those resources will be exported 
that have the setting export=true (and for a folder: everything below 
that has no own setting)
