[opencms-dev] browser MSIE vs. Firefox - off topic

Sorry, this is not an OpenCms issue in the first place but I have a page
made of some tables and table data with space holders and background
that appears differently under firefox and MSIE.

A single dotted red line should appear but under MSIE that is 
a row of fine vertical red lines.

Anyone knowing a trick to make that appear equal under both browsers?
